Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled in Lookupper for Windows and Lookupper for Mac.

We Collect No Personal Information Using Our Programs

We do not collect, use, save, or have access to any of your personal data (information that can be used to identify you) recorded in Lookupper.

Your Saved Words (Deck) and individual settings within Lookupper are stored only on your device. We don’t process that information at all and have no access to it.

Data We Collect in Lookupper for Windows

  1. Anonymized hardware ID: We use a unique but anonymous ID from your device to manage the license system. Alongside it we keep the app version and how the app was installed (Microsoft Store or direct download), so that licenses keep working across updates. This ID cannot be used to track or identify you.

  2. Window titles as translation context: When you look up text with the AI dictionaries, the title of the window you are looking at may be sent to the AI provider together with the text, so the translation fits the app or game you are in. Window titles are not stored on our side.

  3. IP address, briefly: Your IP address is not stored. It is held in memory for up to 24 hours only to protect the service from abuse, such as a script registering thousands of devices.

External Services

Lookupper Dictionary and Translator uses AI model providers to give you useful content. We only send the minimum information needed to generate a response. We use these providers through paid APIs whose terms do not allow our requests to be used for training their models. On our side, we do not store any of your request or response data.

We also use Sentry (sentry.io) to collect crash and performance data for Lookupper for Windows. This helps us fix program crashes and make it faster. The text you look up and your device ID are never sent to Sentry.

Feedback You Send Us

If you send a review or report an AI answer from inside the app, the message and, if you choose to provide it, your email address are delivered to our mailbox. We use them only to read your feedback and reply to you.

Data We Collect in Lookupper for Mac

We collect no data in Lookupper for Mac.

You will be asked to provide access to Screen Recording, so you can look up words on the screen. However, our application does not record any audio, even though the prompt asks for access to screen recording, including audio recording. The program does not send any recording data anywhere, and all recording data is deleted immediately after the word is looked up.

App Analytics

To help us understand how people use the Lookupper and to keep improving it, we use analytics information provided by App Store Connect and Microsoft Store Partner Center. These services provide us with anonymous usage, transaction, and other statistics that cannot identify you personally.
